Dr. Caldeira’s Coaching Story:
My performance and executive coaching story began as the daughter of a physical education professional who was also an esteemed gymnast, at 85 years old my father is still teaching others how to maintain their physical health and well-being.
At an early age I also had the opportunity to be a member of the National Badminton team of Guyana as a junior athlete. I was part of the team representing Guyana at the annual Caribbean championships for 3 consecutive years in the mid 1980’s, culminating in winning the Caribbean girl’s doubles championship along with partner Sinikka Wahab.
These experiences stand out as a solid foundation for my work as a clinical psychologist as well as a mental performance and executive coach.
While pursuing my doctoral studies in clinical psychology at Adelphi University, I was lucky to be a part of a year long case consultation group focused on organizational psychology. There I was introduced to positive psychology, leadership development, and executive coaching.
The skills I learned in organizational psychology were valuable during my 10 year professional career as a research scientist at prestigious institutions such as Columbia University and New York University.
These skills were even more valuable as I transitioned from a sole proprietor in private practice to ownership of a professional corporation group private practice managing a thirty-six member team.
One of the most important missions of the group private practice I founded is coaching newly licensed mental health professionals to launch their own successful private practices and I am proud to say, that I have coached more than 100 mental health clinicians to successful solo and group private practice.
Along the way, I have maintained a clinical practice and I have had the pleasure of coaching hundreds of high achieving consultants at a major consulting firm in New York City.
While I no longer compete, I remain passionate about coaching athletes at all levels towards success, compassion for self, and reaching satisfying goals.
